About

The Oklahoma GI Rights Hotline is a service of the Oklahoma Center for Conscience. The hotline offers free and confidential counseling by lay volunteers trained in military regulations and working under the guidance of an Oklahoma attorney who specializes in military law, James M. Branum.

We are affiliated with the national GI Rights Network and the Military Law Task Force of the National Lawyers Guild.

Our mission is to provide free and confidential information to those who contact us, based on current military regulations, policy and practice. Our counselors are trained by experienced military law professionals, participate in a national listserv of those counselors, and attend regular trainings and conferences to stay up to date with current regs and the on-the-ground experience of GI Rights workers around the country.

OCC and the Oklahoma GI Rights Hotline are non-governmental organizations funded by community donations and private grants. If you would like to help the hotline, see our Support page.

The OK GI Rights Hotline began operations on September 24, 2007. For more information, see the news release that announced its opening.
